Description
A standard set of reference radiographs contains 20 films showing a minimum of 20 defects, plus a minimum of 6 processing defects.
All samples are in carbon steel pipe and plate. The defects are intentionally obvious and generally gross in nature making them easier for the student to differentiate between and learn about the different defect types, sizes and general locations.
Each radiograph will be provided with a master report showing defect type, distance from zero, defect length, any artefacts, sensitivity and film density. 10 copies of an example student report template will be provided alongside a defect radiograph grid showing examples of what each defect would look like within a radiograph.
It should be noted that these are reference and training radiographs for defect characterisation. It would be up to each organisation to second master and assess if they could be used for examination.
These sets can be customised, plate only, pipe only, light or dense material, etc. should a more specific need arise in the future.
